The Squad

The Minnesota Timberwolves (often referred to as the Wolves1) are a professional2 basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The team was founded in 1989 and is owned by entrepreneur Marc Lore and former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez.  The team plays at Target Center in downtown Minneapolis.

1 Regardless of what you may see or hear elsewhere, it is never acceptable to call them the T-Wolves. Jim Pete says so.

2 The term “professional” has occasionally been debated. The Wolves are statistically the least successful team in NBA history with a winning percentage of .416. This makes them the second least successful team in the four major American sports leagues, ahead of only the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers (.410). Tampa’s at least won a couple championships, though.

So, What Is This?

I’m not really sure yet.  I happen to have some time on my hands and am mostly just trying to keep myself busy. Have some fun poking around.  I hope you like what you find.

How Did We Get Here?

Many moons ago3, I was invited to tag along with some friends who were going to the Twin Cities for a Vikings game.  The night before, we were looking for something to do, and upon discovering that the local NBA team was playing at home that night, we headed to Target Center.

It's not an exaggeration to say my life was changed that night.

I was immediately transfixed and have been a raging fan ever since.  I’ve seen a LOT of bad hoop and my late wife claimed I loved the team more than her4, but the joy I’ve gotten has been incalculable.

3 I mean, I was at KG’s first-ever home game.  Like I said, MANY moons ago.

4 I didn’t, but it’s closer than I care to admit.

My niece at 8 days old.  Most people got her clothes with adorable farm animals and unicorns.  I went another way.
